Portsmouth Grammar School
Founded in 1732 as a boys' school after a former Mayor of Portsmouth, William Smith, left his estate to Christ Church, Oxford with instructions to build a school in Portsmouth. It is the oldest school in the historic city of Portsmouth
Chatham Naval Memorial
The memorial was designed by Sir Robert Lorimer and overlooks the town. There are 18,623 identified casualties listed of which 8,517 were sailors in World War One. The memorial was unveiled by the Prince of Wales (future King Edward VIII) on 26th April 1924
