Plymouth Naval Memorial
The memorial was designed by Sir Robert Lorimer and is situated on The Hoe which looks directly towards Plymouth Sound. There are 23,204 identified casualties listed of which 7,231 were sailors in World War One. The memorial was unveiled by HRH Prince George on 29th July 1924

[In 1901 the family were living at 17 Holland Park Avenue. Cyril, their only child, in 1911 was attending a private preparatory school in Wokingham which prepared boys for the Army, Navy and Colonial Service.). He then went on to Dartmouth for preparation for the Navy.
