Christ's Hospital
Founded in London by King Edward VI for the orphan children of poor Londoners in Old Grey Friar's Monastery in Newgate Street. The first children were admitted in 1552 and it was given Royal Charter in 1553. The school moved to its present site in Horsham, West Sussex, in 1902
Portsmouth Naval Memorial
The memorial was designed by Sir Robert Lorimer and is located on Southsea Common. There are 24,593 identified casualties listed of which 10,000 were sailors in World War One. The memorial was unveiled by the Duke of York (future King George VI) on 15th October 1924
