Boer War army veteran who served (8 + 4) + 4 + 1 years with the Wiltshire Regiment, discharged on 29 August 1915, his service record survives. Recalled from the Army Reserve in 1914. Married on 11 December 1910 at Llangiwg near Pontardawe, Glamorgan, Wales to Eveline Beatrice Williams. Interesting that he enlisted in the RNVR rather than re-enlisting as a conscript in the army in 1916. Enlisted in the RN Volunteer Reserve and mobilised for hostilities on 17 January 1916. Demobilised on 26 May 1919. Died on 19 August 1939 in Bristol.
