He served in HMS Malaya from 28 Jan 1916 – 17 Sep 1920. His brother William served in HMS Canada. The Jutland medallion pictured remains in the Mitchell family. It was issued in 1916 as a fund raising initiative for Naval orphanages. Previous occupation: Bacon dryer. Joined RFR 17/4/1917. Died Q3/1976; date uncertain.
