(HMS Espiegle 1920 and HMS Arethusa Apr - Sep 1936.) WW2 service: 'Served in HM Ships & Shore Establishments under War conditions'. Promoted to Temporary Lieutenant and Quartermaster RM 7 March 1941. MiD in the 1944 Birthday Honours, dated 8 June 1944. Subsequently discharged 9 August 1947. Died in 1973 in Devizes.
