Pensioned in 15/04/1922. He was paid Prize Bounty for being at the Battle of Jutland, on 12/05/1921. A printer by trade before he entered the RN, he started out as a Stoker but during his time aboard HMS Lion he was rated as Acting Stoker Petty Office, but worked as the Admirals Printer, so must have quite a lot of contact with Admiral Beatty.
